With sanction and financial support from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mathura was established under the administrative control of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur in 1984 on the campus of the then Veterinary College, Mathura. This KVK later has been transferred under the administrative control of U.P.Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura. 281001 (U.P) in 2004 after the annexation of the erstwhile Veterinary College in to the first Veterinary University during Oct., 2001.
In the holy/religious birth city of Lord Shri Krishna, this centre lies between 770-71-780-12 East latitude and 270-14-270-58 North longitude and falls in South West Semi Arid Zone (SWSAZ), situated on Agra-Mathura Road, Chungi, on the main campus of the University, Mathura.
The climate of the city is sub-tropical, where temperature during winter dips to 1.50C and in summers it fluctuates between 400C to 460C. The average rainfall of the district is 580 mm. which mainly falls during July to September.
